Straw is a traditional construction material that has been used for hundreds of years, known to have excellent longevity, offering excellent insulation properties and in plentiful supply. Straw waste has been calculated to offer an existing supply chain sufficient to construct up to 600,000 homes a year in the UK. There are many bio materials available but straw stands out, as it is inexpensive and available in abundant supply each year.

As a practice we work with and have specialist knowledge of both the traditional straw bale building methods as well as an off the shelf factory assembled panelised straw systems where scale and time are key driving factors.
