Fabric First
At our practice, we follow the Fabric First principle, prioritising insulation and airtightness in the building envelope. This approach is the most effective way to reduce carbon emissions from heating while ensuring long-term energy efficiency.
Only after establishing this strong foundation do we consider renewable, low-carbon heating solutions and technologies. Without first addressing the building fabric, implementing these systems often makes little sense from either a carbon reduction or financial perspective.
This principle serves as our guiding approach across all projects, enabling us to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions that reduce environmental impact and support long-term performance.
